It is often used for hot-fill packaged foods, microwaveable cooking utensils that can hold hot foods like household bowls or rinsing cups among other daily items like measuring cups.

The Chinese name is polystyrene (PS), which has an international material designation number of six; products processed from it have good transparency and sealing properties but are brittle and not heat resistant.

It has an international material designation number of seven; products processed from it are transparent with high heat resistance and not easily broken. It is commonly used in processing baby bottles, distillation barrels, heat-resistant barrels, and medicine bottles.
